Alpacas make life feels fabulous! Alpacas produce one of the world's finest and most luxurious natural fibers. Soft as cashmere and warmer, lighter and stronger than wool, Alpaca yarn comes in many natural colors and can be died. Alpaca is a cashmere-like fleece and was once reserved for Incan royalty. It is now enjoyed by spinners and weavers around the world.
Jan Harris, shown at left, is spinning Alpaca fibers into yarn. A wide variety of clothing, blankets, etc., are made from alpaca fleece. We spin all the yarn and knit all of our items ourselves.
Alpacas were a cherished treasure of the ancient Incan civilization and played a central role in the Incan culture on the high Andean Plateau and mountains of South America. Domesticated for over 5000 years, Alpacas are now internationally recognized. They make practical pets as they are clean, safe, quiet, intelligent and disease resistant. We enjoy raising alpacas on our farm in East Tennessee called "Heaven's View Acres", and we have some for sale in case you would like to start raising Alpacas too. Ours are all registered.
